The morning session for Kumusha Bus Addis kicks-of at GIZ headquarter in attendance with participants from Sheger Media,AIESEC,Addis Ababa University,HilCoE College,CCL,CC.
The fist presentation was introduction by Abel Asrat,Wikipedian In Residence about the kumusha.
Nadja Shashe presented the role of social media in educating the youth.Which sparked interesting discussion with the challenges and misuse of social media in Ethiopia.
Fasika Minda,Google Student Alumni and a project manager for a project that relates education with technology discussed the importance of working with highschool students.
For the afternoon Simone shared his experience from Kenya related to CC,Open Source and Open Data.The participants were very curios and amazed to learn about the difference that exist between Kenya and Ethiopia with regards to Open Source,Internet………..
We wrap up the Kumusha Bus Addis day one activity by signing up participants with Wikipedia Account.We were also interviewed by Sheger FM,the popular private FM media.During hte intereview I was asked to mention the importance of wikipedia,open source and it’s status in Ethiopia.
